It’s fair to say that 2020 has been challenging, but we all know someone who has kept our spirits high.

Music Backers have teamed up with Support Act to present Nominate a Mate - a AU$1,5001 cash prize awarded to 100 individuals that have used music to make a positive impact on others this year. Be it through their contribution to the music industry, their resilience in the face of hardship, their adaptability and new ways of finding audiences, or simply their passion to keep the music playing.

It could be a music teacher who kept creativity flowing for students during isolation, or a sound engineer neighbour who helped others keep their connection to fans alive, or amate who introduced you to the music of so many new Aussie artists. There are so many ways people have kept the music playing, and we want to reward them.

Plus, there could be something in it for you too! If your mate is selected as a winner of a AU$1,5001 cash grant, you will automatically go into the draw for a chance to win 1 of 20, AU$250 Ticketmaster e-Gift Cards to go to a live gig when events reopen.

The important stuff:

  • To be eligible, both you and your mate have to be an Australian Resident aged 18 years or over on 11:59pm Sun 23rd August 2020
  • You can nominate a maximum of 5 different mates, but you may only nominate an individual mate once.
  • If multiple people nominate the same mate, all nominators will go into the draw for a chance to win 1 of the AU$250 Ticketmaster vouchers
  • You can only nominate individuals. Businesses are not eligible to receive a prize.

  • Unsuccessful applications from round 1 will be automatically taken through to round two of judging.
